"Voltron: Legendary Guardian" is an American network TV animation series produced by DreamWorks, World Events Productions and Studio Mir. It is a remake of the "Voltron" animation series launched by Japan's 20th Century Fox in the 1980s. All the characters in this series are derived from the original "Voltron". The characters and backgrounds are drawn in two-dimensional animation, and the battle part uses CGI three-dimensional special effects technology. Four Earth teens-Keith, Lance, Hunk, Pidge and their mentor Shiro-who become the last line of defense for the galaxy in an intergalactic battle against the evil alien forced by King Zarkon. For thousands of years, the evil Galra Empire's conquest and destruction of other planets has caused great harm to the entire universe. The only thing that can threaten and stop the empire is the more than 100-meter-tall robot warrior composed of five lion-shaped robots-Voltron, known as the "Protector of the Universe", and their drivers are called Paladins. On the eve of Altea's destruction by the Graa Empire, Voltron was separated by Altea's King Avor to prevent Voltron from falling into the hands of Graa's King Zarkon. King Avor connected the Five Lions to the life force of his daughter Allura and sent them to another part of the universe to await the next generation of Paladins. Princess Allura, her squire Crane, and the Altea Castle, where the Black Lion was hidden, hid on the planet Arus. Currently, the Graa Empire's conquests and search for Voltron lead them to the solar system where Earth is located. A team of astronauts: Hero, Giz, Lance, Pidge, and Hank, discovered the Blue Lions and were immediately drawn into the war with the Graa people. They met Princess Allura and became the new Paladins, and reunited the Five Lions into Voltron to fight Zarkon. Ultimately, they stopped Zarkon's plan and defeated the entire Graa Empire.
