The series tells the story of Judge Abby Stone (Melissa Rauch), an optimistic judge who is unwilling to apologize easily. She is the daughter of the original character Harry Stone (Harry Anderson, who played this role, has passed away). She follows in her father's footsteps and becomes a judge in the Manhattan Night Court. She manages her group of eccentric and cynical subordinates, especially the former Night Court prosecutor.
